Tour de Luxembourg 最後一天，本來應該是黃衫防守、攻擊者試探、車隊在 Luxembourg-Limpertsberg 反覆拉扯的收官站。Mathieu van der Poel 卻幾乎從起點就把比賽切成兩條線：他一個人在前面騎自己的節奏，後方則由 Davide Piganzoli 和 Visma 管理總成績。
結果很清楚。Van der Poel 贏下第 5 站，Piganzoli 沒有被拖進混亂，安全拿下 2026 Skoda Tour de Luxembourg 總冠軍。
第 5 站賽果：Van der Poel 從 Mersch 單飛到 Limpertsberg
官方賽後稿寫明，第 5 站是 Mersch 到 Luxembourg-Limpertsberg，177 公里。Van der Poel 從 Mersch 一開始就獨自突圍，整天沒有被追回，最後以 4:10:58 進站。
Mikkel Frølich Honoré 第二，落後 1 分 04 秒。Pepijn Reinderink 第三，落後 1 分 09 秒。Piganzoli 第四，與 Reinderink 同秒完賽，完成總成績防守。

這不是一般早逃。官方說 Van der Poel 在前面獨騎 177 公里；部分媒體寫 175 或 174 公里，是因為計算點包含或扣掉中立路段、實際脫離點不同。讀者只要抓住一件事：這是幾乎全程的單飛勝。
為什麼後方沒有把他追回
起點後曾有 6 位車手追出去，包括盧森堡的 Loïc Bettendorff 和 Larry Valvasori，但沒有接上 Van der Poel。官方報導指出，主集團在終點前 45 公里追回這組追擊時，Van der Poel 還有 3 分 30 秒。
這個時間差讓 Visma 的選擇變得務實。Van der Poel 的總成績威脅不高，真正需要看住的是 Vercher、Gachignard、Paret-Peintre 和 Arrieta。與其把全隊燒在追單站，不如把 Piganzoli 放在正確位置，避免最後繞圈被攻擊打散。
最後一圈仍然有動作。Søren Kragh Andersen 和 Reinderink 都有攻擊，Honoré 也成為最接近 Van der Poel 的單獨追擊者。但時間不夠了。Van der Poel 在前面完成自己的比賽，Piganzoli 在後方完成另一場比賽。
總成績：Piganzoli 把黃衫帶回終點
第 4 站個人計時後，Piganzoli 已把領先擴大到 Vercher 47 秒、Gachignard 49 秒。第 5 站後，官方最終總成績確認，他以 52 秒領先 Vercher、54 秒領先 Gachignard，並同時拿下白衫。

這個總冠軍不是最後一天才騎出來的。Piganzoli 第 3 站接過黃衫，第 4 站在 20.4 公里個人計時贏下單站，第 5 站則把風險守完。三天連在一起看，才是他的勝利輪廓。
Van der Poel 的世界賽訊號
Alpecin-Premier Tech 賽前就把 Luxembourg 寫成 Van der Poel 前往 Montréal 世界錦標賽前的最後公路節奏。這一站的意義也因此不只是一個單站勝。
他第 1 站已經贏過一次，最後一天又用長距離單飛收尾。官方報導中，他把這場形容成不是賽前計畫，而是出發後發現自己在前面、腿感又好，於是一路把節奏推到終點。這種說法很平淡，但對對手來說訊號很重：不是只剩爆發力，而是 4 小時以上的連續輸出仍在。
最後 170 公里後，短坡會變很長
CyclingFlash 描述 Limpertsberg 繞圈裡的 Pabeierbierg 約 830 公尺、8.8%。這個數字單看不嚇人，但放在 170 公里後，感覺完全不同。
那時候車手已經吃過幾輪補給、過了很多小坡和轉彎，手臂、核心與髖角都開始累。短陡坡不只考驗最大瓦數，也考驗出彎後再加速、離開坐墊時車頭穩不穩、胎壓能不能兼顧滾阻和抓地。這也是為什麼最後一站不能只用「平路追不追得上」理解。
對一般車友來說，這場最值得看的不是某一個零件，而是整套設定在疲勞後是否還能工作。把位太低，後段可能撐不住；胎壓太硬，粗糙路面和彎中加速會變得緊；補給拿慢一點，下一個坡就會先付利息。
